Faculty may place textbooks or other supplemental readings on Reserve to allow students maximum access to course-specific materials. Reserve materials may be from the library's collection or may be the instructor's personal copies. Such materials may include books, articles, videos, recordings, etc. Personal or departmental copies may be brought to the Circulations desk where items will be placed on reserve. Staff will retrieve library copies from the stacks, please ensure that the call numbers are complete and correct on your request form.
Loan periods are: one, two, three or four hours; one or two days; or one week. To ensure that materials are ready for your students for the first week of class, please complete and submit the Course Reserve Request Form at least two weeks before the beginning of the semester. The Patron Services Department also keeps a list of reserve items at the main circulation desk for student access.
All reserve materials will comply with the U.S. copyright law as stated in the Copyright Policies.
The library accepts requests from students and faculty. To recommend an item for purchase, please complete the Recommend a Resource Form. Faculty should indicate their name and department so that the appropriate library fund may be charged. When making a request, please send a marked copy of the publisher's flyer or catalog to the library. All book orders must be processed by the library’s ordering department.
